Designing our own icon set is an idea that’s been going through our minds for a while, so we’ve finally taken the leap and decided to come up with our own open-source, extendable icon set. We introduce you to Mono Icons! 🙌

The isometric grid itself is basically the guideline to have the right angles when drawing from an isometric perspective.

The “true isometric grid” has a 30º angle between the x and z axes to the plane. Graphic design software like Vectornator offers the feature to easily edit the angle of the isometric grid. Also, you are able to increase & decrease the size of the grid which is super helpful if you want to add for example a small balcony on your isometric housing.

When I review icons submitted to Iconfinder, I have a responsibility to our designers and to our customers to make sure all premium icons on the site are the highest possible quality. But the difference between “not quite good enough” and “premium quality” is often very small and usually involves minimal changes. And sometimes it takes you so long to figure out how to make said dot that you begin to contemplate the benefits of giving up design entirely and living as a hermit in the woods.
